The Continente Bom Dia in Quinta do Marquês, Oeiras, was inaugurated in December as the tenth store in the SONAE network operating with the Integrated Waterloop Solution by RACE. This solution integrates Refrigeration, HVAC, and Domestic Hot Water (DHW) systems, aiming to reduce electricity consumption and improve comfort within the commercial unit.

These systems are fully integrated and continuously monitored, with consumption measured at each point, and controlled via RACE Building Efficiency solutions. The integration of these thermal systems enables high synergy in the production of cold and heat, with all heat exchanges managed efficiently, without waste, and at maximum performance.

Heat extracted from display cabinets and cold rooms is fully recovered, used both for space heating and DHW production. Similarly, cooling production is optimized through equipment management at peak efficiency. All system components, including fans, pumps, and COOLBOX compressors, feature EC motors allowing continuous adjustment for maximum efficiency. Energy consumption is thus drastically reduced, while system reliability and quality are significantly enhanced.

Thermal comfort inside the store and temperature control within cabinets and cold rooms are superior, with minimal temperature fluctuations.

By installing this additional COOLBOX unit, RACE continues to strengthen its market presence as a forward-looking engineering company, delivering innovative solutions that address the main challenges in the retail sector, particularly in supermarkets and hypermarkets.
