The rehabilitation project of the Rosa Mota Pavilion (or Palácio de Cristal) in Porto is in its final phase, aiming to restore the space to host large-scale events such as fairs, congresses, and sporting events.

RACE was tasked with executing the HVAC works under a Design & Build approach, meeting an extremely tight deadline of just 5 months.

RACE embraced the challenge, committing to achieve the defined objectives using efficient and high-quality solutions. Given that this is a historical building, the project faced numerous architectural constraints, preventing the use of standard solutions.

The energy production system is fully adapted to meet the needs for heating, cooling, and domestic hot water.

All thermal energy is generated efficiently with no waste, and distributed through pumps operating at variable speed.

The Palácio de Cristal is scheduled to reopen in September and will have a capacity of approximately 8,000 people, reaffirming its status as an iconic venue in the city.
