The Leroy Merlin store in Alta de Lisboa was inaugurated as part of a new commercial complex hosting multiple units. RACE was responsible for installing the building’s complete air conditioning system, spanning three floors with a total area of 2,000 m².

In the technical areas, six rooftop air conditioning units (RT) were installed, equipped with heat recovery and free-cooling systems to ensure climate control in the sales area. For thermal comfort and energy efficiency, a direct expansion system with variable refrigerant volume (VRV), featuring inverter technology in a two-pipe heat pump configuration, was implemented. Additionally, split heat pump systems were installed, designed to operate with the natural refrigerant R32, minimizing environmental impact.

Domestic hot water (DHW) is produced by a dedicated heat pump. The smoke extraction system was tailored for different zones of the building: natural smoke extraction is used in the sales area with roof-mounted smoke exhaust fans, while the warehouse system comprises ductwork and a fire-resistant extraction fan (400 °C for 2 hours). Fire dampers were installed throughout the ventilation and climate control system, ensuring effective compartmentalization and safety in case of fire.
