RACE was responsible for implementing the climate control solution and integrating the building management system (BMS) into the existing hotel infrastructure for a new space dedicated to events and celebrations at Hotel da Calçada.

The project included the climate control of two event halls, measuring 212 m² and 225 m², respectively. The spaces are separated by a movable partition, allowing them to be used independently or, when required, combined to create a single larger hall.

To ensure the appropriate level of thermal comfort for different layouts and usage requirements, two air handling units (AHUs) with DX coils were installed, with one unit dedicated to each hall.

The solution was complemented by two heat recovery units, designed to provide climate control for the 96 m² entrance area and air treatment for the sanitary facilities. This approach ensures adequate air renewal and indoor air quality, while also contributing to more efficient energy use.

Another key aspect of the project was the integration of the building management system into the hotel’s existing system. The new equipment is therefore integrated into the existing control infrastructure, enabling centralized and more efficient management of the installations.

Through this project, RACE further demonstrates its expertise in delivering climate control solutions tailored to spaces with diverse uses, ensuring comfort, efficiency and flexibility across different layouts and operational requirements.
