ENERCON Rotor Blade Factory
Enercon strengthens industrial presence in Viana do Castelo with SISTAVAC technical installation
Since 2007, the German multinational Enercon has built five factories in the municipality of Viana do Castelo, becoming the largest private employer in Alto Minho, with around 1,400 employees. With more than one thousand in-house manufactured wind turbines installed in Portugal, totaling 2,500 MW, the company is responsible for over half of the national wind capacity (4,500 MW), playing a central role in the country’s renewable energy production.
SISTAVAC was responsible for the technical installation of Enercon’s rotor blade factory in Viana do Castelo, in a project that began in 2007 and was completed within seven months. The intervention covered air conditioning, ventilation, and smoke extraction for the complex, as well as the implementation of multiple essential systems for the operation and safety of the industrial unit.
The scope of works included:
-
Installation of air conditioning, ventilation, and smoke extraction systems
-
Building Management System (BMS)
-
Water and sewage networks
-
Fire safety network
-
Compressed air network
-
Power supply, distribution, and lighting installation
-
Access control, security, and structured cabling
-
Gas network installation
This project highlights SISTAVAC’s strong technical expertise in delivering integrated solutions for the industrial sector, contributing to Enercon’s role as a benchmark in Portugal’s renewable energy landscape.
