The implementation of the chilled water distribution system, as well as the ventilation and smoke extraction system, posed significant challenges in 1996 for the development of this shopping center, which covers 119,725 m² and houses approximately 340 stores.

The Colombo Towers, initially planned as part of the Centro Colombo project, only began construction in 2007. However, through remarkable teamwork between external design teams and the project team of the then SISTAVAC, the milestone was achieved of having the first A+ certified installation for a building of this size and complexity in Portugal.
