Rafael Moreira was honored with the SKK Merit Prize in Energy and Sustainability 2024/2025 for achieving the best performance in the Energy and Sustainability course at Instituto Superior Técnico.
The award ceremony took place on September 26 at the Alameda campus, marking the first edition of this distinction.

Valued at €1,800, the prize recognizes academic merit and the connection between Técnico and the business sector. “This award is very important, not only for me but also for future students, to motivate them to achieve better results,” said Rafael Moreira.

The Vice-President of Técnico, Pedro Amaral, thanked SKK for supporting the initiative, highlighting its value to the academic community. Meanwhile, the CEO of Gruppo SKK, Manuel Quinaz, emphasized the importance of energy and sustainability in the company’s strategy.

The award also includes a €1,200 donation to the Department of Mechanical Engineering, intended to enhance teaching in the course.
Since 2024, Gruppo SKK has been part of Técnico’s Partner Network, collaborating to promote talent and innovation with social impact.
